The 2013 DBIR is out! - Verizon Business Security Blog

April Fools. You should be careful about what the Interwebs tell you today (any other day, they?re entirely trustworthy, of course).

In all seriousness, we wish it were out today because we?re ready to share our findings and analysis with you. Turns out exchanging and analyzing data from 18 different global agencies takes a bit of time. Who?d a thunk it? But we?ve managed to suss things out now, and are prepping this thing for primetime.

When will that be? Well, we?re not allowed to divulge that now, but it won?t be too much longer ? and that?s not an April Fools joke. If so inclined, you can pre-register to be notified a bit before it releases (no?this doesn?t mean registration will be required to download the report; you?ll be able to get it sans signup like always). Registering here is for notification of release and you?ll also get access to additional DBIR-related content this year.

I will let a small cat out of the bag, and say that this year?s report dives into threat actor motives and methods like none other I?ve ever seen. We think understanding your enemy is of critical importance, and hope to convince you of that too.

Thanks for your patience, everyone. We know we?re taking our sweet time, but trust us that we?re not dilly-dallying.
