Texas A&M defensive end Damontre Moore?s draft stock has been up-and-down like the stocks on Wall Street.
While Moore entered the NFL Combine as a projected top 10 pick, he left as a middle of the first round type guy.
Texas A&M?s Friday pro day will be one of Moore?s last chances to impress NFL scouts and watch his stock rise once again.
As Mike Herndon of al.com writes, Moore is just one of the SEC?s top athletes with much to prove on pro day.
?Going into the combine, Moore was thought to be a potential top-five pick who was scheme-versatile as a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 outside linebacker,? Herndon said. ?He has good size at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds and was very productive in 2012, leading the Aggies in tackles (85) sacks (12?) and tackles for loss (21).
?But then Moore ran only 4.95 in the 40 and did only 12 reps of 225 pounds on the bench at the combine. Scouts now have to be wondering whether he?s a classic ?tweener who isn?t a particularly good fit in either scheme.?
Better times and an increase in production on his pro day could get people talking about Moore again. Anything short of the fanatical efforts he showed during his time at A&M though could mean the falling of his stock once again.
