Apple CEO Tim Cook has reportedly sent out an email to Apple employees, sharing his thoughts on today's massive $1 billion victory against partner/rival. Cook's comments echoed a great deal of Apple's public statement, but according to 9to5Mac's Mark Gurman, also added:
We chose legal action very reluctantly and only after repeatedly asking Samsung to stop copying our work. For us this lawsuit has always been about something much more important than patents or money. It?s about values. We value originality and innovation and pour our lives into making the best products on earth. And we do this to delight our customers, not for competitors to flagrantly copy.
Cook, who became CEO exactly a year ago today, previously said Apple could not become the developer for the world, and no doubt sees today's verdict as an affirmation of his and Apple's position.
